Most popular in this venue is the game of five spot, which challenges shooters to hit a circular target with five different colored rings of different sizes.

The bow has always remained as a hunting weapon but over time has become a modern sport. Like all other recreational activities, archery practice is needed to become good at it.
At Lake Oconee Shooting Club, you can practice your bow shooting at the 3D 20 Station Archery Course. The course features McKenzie 3D targets, designed to simulate an actual hunting experience The participants are challenged to test their bows in a variety of hunting settings.
With over a 1/2 mile trail situated in a natural setting you will find life size animals waiting for your attempt at hitting them. Traveling station to station, you will find animals such as a wild boar, white tail deer, fox, wolf, bobcat, pronghorn, caribou, porcupine, black and brown bear just to name a few.

Throughout the year, Lake Oconee Shooting Club schedules 6-week archery league for anyone to join. Archery Shooters will have the opportunity to shoot Wednesday through Sunday, and register their score each week.
Archery leagues scores will displayed at Lake Oconee Shooting Club weekly and the archery leagues targets will be changed weekly. At the end of the leagues season, an Awards Banquet Dinner will be held at Lake Oconee Shooting Club. Archery leagues are open to members and non-members.
The Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Program focuses on the Olympic format, along with all other disciplines of recreational archery for all children anywhere from 8 - 18 years of age. All archery equipment is provided.
The hands-on educational classes focus on archery safety, basic archery fundamentals, setting/achieving goals, and game management.
The Lake Oconee JOAD is facilitated Certified Archery Instructors.
Lake Oconee Shooting Club wants to familiarize and educate youth about the rewarding sport of archery shooting. Archery Shooting Clinics are designed to teach safety techniques and the basic fundamentals of archery sports to youth boys and girls.

In the spirit of cooperation, Hilsman's Archery Range, 12 Point Archery, and Lake Oconee Shooting Club; are proud to announce the M.E.G.A Triple Crown Shooter of the Year Archery Championship.
The M.E.G.A. Triple Crown Shooter of the Year Championship is dedicated to promoting the growth and enjoyment of tournament archery on the local level to all ages and abilities.
